UPDATE - I've posted the Spreadsheet I'm using to keep tabs on stuff here:
Hey guys -
As I'm finalizing the venue stuff, the question of how many people we could expect came up. We obviously don't want to pay for 200 people if 20 show up :)
Between the 50 or so folks on here, I'd imagine at least one of us still keeps in touch with each person from the class. Anyone willing to make even a rough guess on how many we can expect? Factors to consider:
Proximity to Colorado Springs - how many folks are going to be willing to drive or fly out for it?
Likelihood that people would want to come - I know my wife's reunion had very few people come, but they also weren't as close with their old classmates as (it appears) our class is.
Cost - I'm obviously not paying for all of this so would price be an issue for anyone (it'll probably cost between $50-100 per person when all is said and done.)
Ability to spread the word - what percentage of the class do you think we'll be able to contact in some way?
Lead time - assuming the date gets nailed down in the next week or two, is 9-11 months enough lead time (I certainly hope so, but not sure.)
Other things I'm not thinking about?
My completely uninformed, shot in the dark guess was 100, but I wanted to get your thoughts before I tell them anything. Any guesses?
I'll put it out there first. I'll be there, I need advanced notice, being that I live in NY now and would have to fly out. Since my hubbs won't be home till mid-October, I can pretty much make an trip with out waiting for "leave forms"
I only keep in touch with less than a handful of people and they are already on here, so sorry, I can't help with that.
Let me know if there is anything else I can help with.
That's a good idea. I'll probably put a PayPal thing up here soon so we can collect payment from those of us who know we'll be going. I'll try to come up with some incentive for paying early :)
I am in Arizona but I am willing to drive out. I will probably also bring a friend or a date with me - so count me in for 2. I will inform a couple of my friends that aren't on this website as well - I know they will want to come.
Yeah Sean Jean, I need a date (time, not person) first. If I go, I will bring Nate (plus girlfriend) and Andy along. Brooke doesn't want to admit that she wants to go, but Megan and I can convince her. I can probably get Joey P to come (he just got married by the way). Maybe Stafford. I don't know where anyone else is. Not too many Coronado Alum in Iraq. I would imagine that most people will show up in twos, kind of like Noah's Ark. So if you have 50 Coronado Grads that are interested, you will probably have 100 overall. If Nicole brings her whole family you will need to expand the number exponentially. Damn, are you going to provide child care? Looks like Rand and some other will need it. I think your guess on 100 is pretty good. My bro had his last year (Class of "97) and though he didn't go, old Jeremy Kane told him they had a blast. I'll see if I can get ahold of Kane for a rough estimate on numbers. In the end, if you have too many plates and not enough people, I volunteer to take the leftovers. Also, we need to have a basketball game, so you can dunk on Andy in front of everyone. So, yeah if you can get a date first, it will probably be easier to get commitments. We're going to have name tags, right? I am way uglier now and I want people to remember me. Alright, love and stuff from the sand...
I will be there, and will be dragging my husband (kicking and screaming mind you). We will be flying in from Ohio with all the kids, so as much advance notice as possible is better for cheap flights. I dont keep in touch with anyone outside of Facebook, so there ya have it.
Sean~ I won't be making it out. Sorry! I don't really keep in touch from anyone from high school outside of facebook so I can't spread the word much. Sorry! Hope everyone has fun- Sean it was really nice of you to go out of your way to plan on this! Take Care- Brie Murray
